Christopher "Chris" Chiaki is a laid-back person who has been failing college entrance examinations since he was in his early twenties. Kendo practice, trips to his family's shrine, and daydreaming about his high school reunion fill his days. Chris transforms into Garzey's Wing, a renowned holy warrior, as his spirit is unexpectedly taken to the world of Byston Well. Chris was invited by the Metomeus tribe to help them free themselves from enslavement, but he has no training as a holy warrior and only possesses a very dull blade that he retrieved from a corpse. To add to the confusion, there is another Chris who is still living in the real world! He has no influence over what happens in Byston Well, yet he is bound to it.
